Requirements for the Biochemistry Major
To receive the B.S. in Biological Sciences students must adhere to General Education Requirements and School of Natural Sciences Requirements . The Biochemistry program is designed to give all students a common foundation of core knowledge specific to the discipline. Lower Division Major Requirements [47 Units]
Biological Sciences Requirement [10 units]
Complete the following courses: General Chemistry Requirement [10 units]
Complete the following courses: Organic Chemistry Requirement [5 units]
Complete the following courses: Mathematics Requirement [12 units]
Complete the following courses: Physics Requirement [10 units]
Complete the following courses: Upper Division Major Requirements [23 Units]
Complete the following courses: Requirements for Pre-Pharmacy Emphasis [15-19 Units]
Computer Science Requirement [4 units]
Complete one of the following courses: Upper Division Emphasis Requirement [5 units]
Complete the following course: Upper Division Elective Requirement [6-10 units]
Complete two of the following courses: Transfer Selection Criteria
To be admitted to the Biochemistry major transfer students must meet the following requirements: Applicants will, at the time of admission have completed at minimum each of the following courses (or their equivalent) with a “C” or better: |
