PHYS 137: Quantum Mechanics Core

[4.0 units]

Covers the fundamentals of quantum mechanics, which forms the foundation of our modern understanding of matter at the atomic and molecular level. Topics include the Schroedinger equation, Hilbert spaces, the operator formalism, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, tunneling, pertubation and WKB theory, fermions, and bosons.

Prerequisite: PHYS 010  and MATH 023  and MATH 024 . Discussion included.
