AE 171: Aerospace Structures and Materials Units: 4
Builds on the background learned in Statics and Strength of Materials to deal with the structural design of thin-walled structures relevant to aerospace systems. Students will (a) develop a qualitative understanding of common structural problems encountered in aerospace structures, (b) be able to formulate and solve practical problems for typical aerospace structures/components, and (c) be able to advise on the proper material to be used for a given aerospace component.
