PHYS 108: Thermal and Statistical Physics Core Units: 4
Aims to give students a deep understanding of the fundamental principles of thermal and statistical physics. Topics include probability, ensembles, equilibrium, entropy, laws of thermodynamics, heat engines, magnetism, chemical equilibria, Boltzmann statistics, partition functions and free energy, quantum statistics and introduction to interacting systems.
