CCST 014: Introduction to Nahuatl Literature, Language and Culture Units: 4
Explores Indigenous Mexican texts written by the colonized Nahua about their experience of the Spanish invasion. Students will learn how to access words and phrases in the original Nahuatl language and will compare these to Spanish translations made at the same time. English translations will be made available for both Nahuatl and Spanish texts. Discussion of differences in writing styles, subject matter, and beliefs of the Nahua and the Spanish.
