ECON 144: Economics of Immigration Units: 4
Familiarizes students with the recent history of immigration to the United States, covering what is known about the selection of immigrants, their assimilation and their impacts on the labor and housing markets, on demographic trends, prices and crime, among other outcomes. Explores the extent to which immigrants “pay their way” in the welfare state; and the source and magnitude of the economic benefits generated by immigration.
