WRI 119A: Special Topics in Writing for Engineering Units: 4
Emphasizes the intensive study and practice of writing aspired to or executed by Engineers, attentive to a range of purposes, audiences, situations, and uses while addressing scholarly, applied, and public genres, formats, and conventions. Each iteration of this course, though specialized to fields or contexts, will involve study and analysis of theoretical and representative texts, and students will develop researched writing projects that demonstrate rhetorical and genre awareness. Example topics could include: Academic Writing for Engineering; Professional Writing for Engineering; Proposal and Public Advocacy Writing for Engineering; and Technical Communication for the Public.
