HIST 167A: History of Japan Units: 4
Provides a broad overview of the histories of Japan from the Asuka Period (538-710) to the present age. “Japan” evokes many images in popular imagination both from outside and within Japan. Explores Japan through a range of sources and media and genres beyond the stereotypical projections (from within and from without) of Japanese culture.
