CE 020: Introduction to Civil and Environmental Engineering

Introduces civil and environmental engineering principles for civil engineers. Engineers have to conduct environmental impact analyses before projects are approved. This requires sustainable engineering and infrastructure practices to build and operate objects with an healthy environment in mind. At a minimum, topics include environmental chemistry, risk assessment, sustainable engineering, clean air and water supply, methods for pollution prevention, control, and treatment. Principles of mass and energy balances will be applied throughout the course.
