PSY 232: Development in the Family Context Units: 4
Covers theoretical and empirical research related to the study of child, adolescent, and adult development in the context of the family. The major theories of family research will be covered, including attachment theory, ecological/systems theories, and sociocultural approaches. Through the lens of these perspectives, we will examine recent research on various relevant topics, including connections between family and school, parenting practices, sibling relationships, marital relationships, and the broader sociocultural context in which families live.
