WRI 101A: Special Topics in Writing for the Psychological Sciences


Units: 4

Emphasizes the intensive study and practice of writing in the psychological sciences, attentive to a range of purposes, audiences, situations, and uses and inclusive of scholarly, applied, and popular genres, formats, and conventions. Each iteration of this course, though specialized to purposes or areas for psychology, will involve study and analysis of theoretical and representative texts, and students will develop researched writing projects that demonstrate rhetorical and genre awareness. Special topics areas could include academic writing for psychology, with designated honors option; writing for the psychological professions, with field-specific options; and/or public writing for psychology.
