Return to: About UC Merced
UC Merced Veteran Services is dedicated to providing a welcoming environment for veterans, reservist and dependents. There are two ways we provide services to our students.
UC Merced Veteran Services Office staff act as a liaison between students and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. This includes providing enrollment certifications for veterans, reservists, active duty military and dependents for educational benefits that include the Montgomery GI bill, Vocational Rehabilitation, Post 9/11 GI Bill, Selected Reserves, and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program. UC Merced participates in the College Fee-Waiver Program, which is administered by the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CDVA). The College Fee-Waiver Program benefits the spouse and children of U.S. Veterans. Students meeting the eligibility criteria may have their Tuition and Student Services Fees waived. The College Fee-Waiver is awarded on an academic-year basis and students are required to reapply each year for continued benefits. The eligibility letter should be submitted to the Veteran Services Office prior to the fee payment deadline to avoid late fee penalties. More information on documentation required to initiate veteran benefits may be found on our website.
