In addition to adhering to General Education Requirements and School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts Requirements , the Accounting major requires at least 68 units (some of which simultaneously meet general education requirements). Courses in the major must be taken for a letter grade, and specifically may not be taken on a pass/no pass basis unless the course is only offered on a pass/no pass basis.
Students are not permitted to combine a Management and Business Economics B.S. (major) degree with an Accounting, B.S. degree. Students are permitted to combine an Economics B.A. degree or an Economics B.S. degree with an Accounting, B.S. degree.

Transfer students who wish to major in Accounting should complete the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) at their community college or other institution. Transfer students may not be admitted to the major without specific major preparation. Below are the current Transfer Selection Criteria for the Accounting Major. Transfer Selection Criteria
To be admitted to the Accounting major transfer students must meet the following requirements: Applicants will, at the time of admission have a minimum transferable GPA of 2.8 and have completed at minimum each of the following courses (or their equivalent) with a “C‐” or better. For students entering through TAG, the following courses are required, but GPA of 3.0 is required. |
