Environmental Systems Science, B.S.


To receive the B.S. in Environmental Systems Sciences students must adhere to General Education  and School of Natural Sciences Requirements . The Environmental Systems Science program consists of 81-92 units with a minimum of 25 courses designed to give all students a common foundation of core knowledge specific to the discipline.

Lower Division Major Requirements [38-41 Units]


Biological or Environmental Systems Science Requirement [4 units]


Complete one of the following courses:

General Chemistry Requirement [8 units]


Complete the following two chemistry courses:

Computer Science Requirement [2-4 units]


Complete one of the following computer science courses:

Mathematics Requirement [8 units]


Complete Calculus I and II:

Probability and Statistics Requirement [4-5 units]


Complete one of the following courses:

Additional Degree Requirements [11-17 Units]


Undergraduate Research Requirement [2-5 units]


Complete one of the following research courses for a minimum of two units:

Natural Sciences or Engineering Course Requirement [9-12 units]


Complete one additional lower-division and two additional upper-division Natural Sciences or Engineering courses. Relevant courses outside of Natural Sciences or Engineering may be allowed with approval.
