Requirements for Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Emphasis Track
The Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) emphasis track prepares students for careers in biology requiring a comprehensive understanding of biological processes that range across the organismal, population, community and ecosystem levels. Ecology and Evolutionary Biology incorporates multidisciplinary approaches to address biological questions within an evolutionary framework. Current areas of research in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UC Merced include agroecology, behavioral ecology, biomechanics, comparative anatomy and physiology, conservation biology, community ecology, developmental genetics, ecosystem ecology, population genetics, plant biology, microbial ecology, molecular evolution, organismal interactions (e.g., plant-microbial), paleo-biology/ecology, phylogenetics, quantitative genetics and systematics.
