Transatlantic Literatures and Cultures Requirement [4 units]
Complete one of the following courses:
Spanish Literatures and Cultures Requirement [8 units]
Complete two of the following Spanish Literatures and Cultures courses:
Latin American Literatures and Cultures Requirement [8 units]
Complete two of the following Latin American Literatures and Cultures courses:
US Latino/a Literatures and Cultures Requirement [4 units]
Complete one of the following courses:
Capstone Project [2-4 units]
Complete the following course:
Upper division Elective Requirement [8 units]
Complete two upper-division elective courses. Students may choose any courses from the following list, except for those they may have already taken to satisfy one of the requirements listed above.
Transfer Students
Transfer students who wish to major in Spanish should complete the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) at their community college. Transfer students may not be admitted to the Spanish major without specific major preparation. Below are the Transfer Selection Criteria for the Spanish Major.

To be admitted to the Spanish major transfer students must meet the following requirements:
Applicants will, at the time of admission have completed at minimum the following course (or its equivalent) with a “C‐” or better:
