CEE 057: Statics and Dynamics Units: 4
Introduces fundamental principles of engineering mechanics with emphasis on statics and dynamics. Explores force systems, moments, equilibrium, trusses, beams, frames, friction, centroids, and moments of inertia. Examines the motion of particles and rigid bodies in two dimensions through kinematics and kinetics. Applies Newton’s laws, work-energy, and impulse-momentum methods. Emphasizes analytical skills for solving problems related to structural analysis and the design of civil and environmental engineering systems.
