SPAN 133: Latino Urban Music and Culture Units: 4
Explores how diverse genres of Hispanic urban music from different countries and historical periods have influenced social movements, as well as cultural diversity and identity in Latin America and the United States. Investigates Hispanic urban music and culture in a comparative context in order to develop global awareness. Genres discussed may include corridos, Latin urbano, hip hop, reggaeton, cumbia, salsa, ranchera, and more. Taught in Spanish.
