AE 173: Aerospace Propulsion

Provides an overview of relevant fundamentals of chemistry, compressible flow, thermodynamics, and combustion for aircraft and space vehicle propulsion. Introduces the components and design of jet engines and supersonic propulsion devices. Explores important design considerations such as thrust, efficiency, and fuel consumption. Discusses device efficiency, emissions, and environmental impact. Highlights alternative fuels and device concepts.
