BIO 117: Advanced Molecular Biology Units: 4
Explores the flow of genetic information from sequence to function. Provides a detailed overview of the structure of genes and covers control of gene expression from the level of transcription to translation of mRNA into proteins. Focuses on a variety of model systems and the relevant experimental approaches, including “-omics” approaches. Topics are foundational to understanding organismal development, molecular basis of diseases, the immune system, and biotechnology.
