BIOE 128: Biotechnology Laboratory Units: 2
Familiarizes students with the fundamentals of Biotechnological practice, including upstream and downstream biomanufacturing as well as specifics of the red (biologics formulation and molecular diagnostics), white (biotransformation) and green (bioremediation) biotechnologies. Introduces techniques, materials and equipment pertinent to biotechnology practices. Provides hands-on experience on methodologies for applying biological and/or biologically derived systems and components in solving bio/biomedical engineering, and biomolecular engineering problems. Discusses ethical and societal considerations.
