BIOE 145: Bioprocess Engineering

Units: 4

Explores engineering, biochemical, biological and physiological considerations of Bioprocesses including the design and operation of bioreactors; scaling-up manufacturing processes combining biology, engineering and economic principles for cell culture operations and food processing; operation of instrumentation to control biotechnological processes; analysis of downstream bioprocesses (application and testing of bioproduct separation technologies including the design of bioseparation processes); biomedical and food processing applications of bioprocess engineering.
