BIO 125: Microbial Genetics Units: 4
Ranging from the basics of DNA copy, transfer, and editing, to more advanced topics on recombination and mutagenesis. Course objectives include identification of how DNA and RNA influence inheritance as well as their role in the transfer of genetic information to the cellular level; recognition of how recombination influences mutational changes in bacteria; and the ability to understand the underlying mechanisms of microbial gene expression on a global scale (multiple signaling pathways, regulatory mechanisms from environmental influences).
