BIO 181: Introduction to Biomolecular Simulation
[4 units]
This course will use lectures and laboratory exercises to teach the principles and practice of molecular modeling with a focus on simulations of biological macromolecules. Topics to be covered include classical molecular dynamics, molecular mechanics, docking, and visualization. The laboratories will involve simulations of systems including water, DNA, and proteins.
Prerequisite: MATH 021 and BIO 100 and CHEM 008 and (PHYS 008 or PHYS 018 ) and MATH 015 or consent of instructor. Discussion, Laboratory included.
